Team & Settings

Team Access

Organization roles decide what someone can do; teams decide which projects they can do it in. Group members into teams and grant each team access to specific projects at a chosen level — for example, give the frontend group write access to two projects and read-only access to a third, without making anyone an org-wide Admin.

Team access lives under Settings → Team Access. It's a Starter plan feature — on the Free plan the page shows an upgrade prompt — and requires the org:manage-teams permission (Admins and Owners).

How team access applies

Team-based project access shapes what Members (and custom-role holders) can reach. Organization Admins and Owners already have organization-wide access, so team assignments primarily matter for your Members.

Creating a team

  1. Click Create Team.
  2. Enter a Name (e.g. "Frontend Team") and an optional Description (e.g. "Responsible for frontend APIs").
  3. Click Create.

Each team appears as a card showing its member count and the projects it has access to. You can rename a team (pencil icon) or delete it at any time.

Managing team members

Click Manage Members on a team card to add or remove organization members:

  • Use the Add member picker to search your organization's members and add them to the team.
  • Remove a member from the team with the trash icon next to their name. This only removes them from the team — not from the organization.

Anyone in your organization can be on any number of teams.

Assigning projects to a team

  1. Click Assign Project on the team card.

  2. Select a project and an Access Level:

Access level What team members can do with the project
    Read View only
    Write View and edit
    Admin Full access
  3. Click Assign.

Projects already assigned to the team don't appear in the picker again.

Changing or removing access

On the team card, each assigned project has an inline access-level selector — switch between Read, Write, and Admin at any time. Use the trash icon next to a project to remove it from the team; team members lose access to that project, but stay in the organization.

Deleting a team

Click the trash icon in the team card's header and confirm. This permanently deletes the team and all its project assignments. Team members are not removed from the organization.
